Your role
The Digital Marketing Account Lead is an intermediate role on the Account Services Team charged with delivering the value proposition of the agency on a day-to-day basis. The primary responsibility of this position is to own a portfolio of Customers, developing strong relationships by helping them identify and execute on their digital marketing strategies. To achieve this, the role leads the Project Management and Execution plans for Marketing Automation and Digital Marketing strategies. Additionally, strong people skills, communications, and a positive attitude are a must when cultivating long term Customers. As an extension of our Customers’ marketing departments, we endeavor to make their daily interactions with us low maintenance and very enjoyable. This role requires a high degree of organization and team coordination capabilities in order to translate Customers’ objectives into actionable monthly plans to be delivered directly and through other teammates. The Digital Marketing Account Lead routinely runs customer meetings and drives presentations, holding these sessions to a very high standard of quality in terms of presentation, timing, and documented next steps. This role contributes highly to the agency’s culture, setting an example for the team in areas such as work ethic, attention to detail, and attitude.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain strong relationships with assigned Customers on a monthly basis
- Maintain on-target delivery of Tasks, Time Budget, and Campaign goals on behalf of Customer(s)
- Be the Customer Subject Matter Expert, knowing the business, their marketing goals, and how best to initiate new campaigns and projects for positive outcomes
- Be the Customer Advocate to overcome obstacles and achieve results
- Set the Marketing Plan for Customers against the Statement of Work (SOW):
- Marketing Automation Services (Campaigns and Use Cases)
- Digital Marketing Services (SEO, PPC, Paid Social, Paid Media)
- Data and Insights (Assessments, Opportunities, KPI reporting)
- Strategy Services (Workshops and Accelerators)
- Maintain the Marketing Plan through regular updates / comments to proprietary agency management systems
- Develop SOW(s) in concert with Manager, Account Services by identifying opportunities for Customer growth
- Develop and maintain regular performance reporting (weekly/quarterly) as needed
- Oversee and set a high level of quality control for Customer Assets: campaigns, raw data, folders, lists, configurations in the automation platform or other agency systems
- Run Customer Meetings with a focus on highlighting our work, uncovering potential opportunities, and reviewing Key Performance Indicators
- Identify gaps in Customers’ marketing processes, suggest changes, and escalate to senior agency resources if needed
- Deliver to the contracted services for Deliverables and/or Subscribed Time
Knowledge & Skill Set
- Broad and competent knowledge of digital marketing in the areas of Paid Media, Search Optimization, Social Media, Email Marketing, Creative Design, Content Strategy and more
- Demonstrated ability to uncover business objectives, map out appropriate campaign strategies, and lead a team of individuals to achieve those goals
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to effectively develop or edit customer copy
- Strong marketing instinct and creative energy
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and delegate effectively
- Detail-oriented with an eye for “pixel perfection”
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, results-oriented team environment
- Strong ability to research best practices and new ways of doing things to remain fresh and efficient
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 years in a digital agency or fast-paced marketing environment
- Experience leading small teams or in a project management capacity
- Specialized post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or digital media is a benefit
Working Location
- Expectation of 4-5 on-site days per week at our Edmonton or Oakville office.
